Waltham earned the nickname “Watch City” from the Waltham Watch Company, the pioneering assembly-line manufacturer that once employed much of the town, and its housing stock still reflects that industrial history — dense, modest neighborhoods that grew up around the mills alongside grand estates like Gore Place and the Robert Treat Paine Estate. Today, Waltham runs on Brandeis University, Bentley University, and a strong tech sector, with Charles River-side neighborhoods ranging from historic mill-worker housing to substantial single-families.
We serve Waltham as part of our Greater Boston territory, bringing the same licensed, lead-safe certified crew here regardless of whether the project is a compact mill-era home or a larger estate property.
Every service below is available across our full service area — same crew, same standards, regardless of which town you’re in.
Waltham's kitchens span a real range — compact layouts in dense mill-era neighborhoods to larger, more open spaces in estate-adjacent homes. We design around whichever footprint you have, with professional design included regardless of scale.
We handle full bathroom rebuilds and tub-to-shower conversions, managing plumbing, tile, and fixtures as one coordinated project — a real consideration in Waltham's older mill-worker housing where original plumbing sometimes needs updating.
We build additions and finish basements, working within Waltham's often tighter mill-era lot sizes in some neighborhoods or larger properties in others, depending on where in town the home sits.
We send licensed, insured two-person crews at transparent flat rates for smaller repair projects — useful maintenance support whether the home is a mill-worker duplex or a larger single-family.
We design custom decks that fit Waltham's varied lot sizes, from tighter urban yards in mill-era neighborhoods to more spacious properties elsewhere in town.
We inspect and repair or rebuild decks affected by age and weather across Waltham's varied housing stock, giving you an honest assessment before recommending either option.
We repair and replace siding across Waltham's mix of Victorian mill-worker homes and larger properties, matching character where it matters rather than defaulting to one standard material.
We install energy-efficient windows and doors, which matters given how much heat Waltham's older housing loses through original glazing in the town's mill-era neighborhoods.
Our US Pro Method delivers a factory-finish cabinet transformation in under 10 days, a practical option for Waltham's smaller mill-era kitchens that need a fresh look without a full renovation.
We follow our full 13-step roofing process on every home and back the work with a 12-year warranty on workmanship and materials, whether the roof sits over a dense mill-era duplex or a larger single-family estate.
We apply full surface prep and premium paint, following lead-safe practices on Waltham's significant stock of pre-1978 housing — a real factor given how much of the town's mill-worker housing dates to that era or earlier.
We paint interiors with full prep and include a complimentary color consultation with every project, taking extra care around the original millwork common in Waltham's older mill-worker housing.
We refinish tubs and tile at a fraction of full renovation cost, a good fit for Waltham's older bathrooms in mill-era housing where the fixtures remain structurally sound.
We coat garage and basement floors with durable epoxy systems built for daily use, practical across Waltham's mix of compact mill-era garages and larger estate properties.
We assess your property and provide a clear, written estimate.
We finalize layout, materials, and permitting needs for your project.
We handle applications with Waltham’s building department.
Our crew completes the work to code, with regular updates throughout.
e review finished work together and leave the site clean.
Typically 12,000to90,000, depending on project scope, materials, and structural complexity.
Most projects take 3 to 8 weeks, though larger renovations may require additional time.
Yes — we understand the specific considerations these denser, older neighborhoods often require.
Yes — many renovation projects require permits, and we manage applications and inspections as part of your project.
Yes — Andover is part of our broader Greater Boston service area, and we bring our full range of services to projects here.
Kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovations, and additions tend to perform well, particularly given Waltham’s strong rental and resale demand near Brandeis and Bentley.
Look for a licensed contractor with strong reviews, transparent estimates, and proven experience with similar homes.
Posted on Google Karl Desmond The team showed up right on time to do our roof. They worked efficiently and completed the job in 1 day. Very impressed with the clean up as well, would definitely recommendPosted on Google Kristin Braithwaite JR and his team installed a custom kitchen island and coffee stand/cabinet for me. JR did a great job of helping me to maximize my space (which is smaller than ideal for what I was seeking). He was patient with my lack of knowledge around the work itself and was able to transform my very layman's vision into something real. He and his team were polite, professional, respectful, and incredibly quick to complete the job. I absolutely love my island and coffee corner and would recommend US Propaint & Renovation without hesitation!Posted on Google John McCarthy JR and his team came in to remove an existing rear deck and replace it with an expanded composite deck. My wife and I are very happy with the project! It looks great and is very solid construction. All of his team were careful and professional and did a great job removing the old deck, recasting new foundation piers and installing the new deck, trim and railings. JR was very thoughtful during our initial discussions and came up with some very creative ideas to resolve some issues. The work was completed in a timely manner. Once they started they did not stop, except for inclement weather. They did an outstanding job of final clean-up and removed debris from the work area nearly every day. When they left they replaced all the furniture exactly as it was when they started. We look forward to working with JR and his team again.Posted on Google Janet Pray JR and his team were professional , knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with on my project. It took me a year to look for a place to have my stairs built, and it was worth the wait. I would recommend them highly.Posted on Google Tom McCone JR was extremely courteous and professional to work with. His crew arrived early each day and worked full days sanding, doing carpentry work, and exterior painting of our home. The crew was polite and always considerate of how they left the property each day. We will certainly use them again for other projects. We could not recommend them more highly. The house looks great; thanks JR and crew! As of November, 2022 US Pro Paint and Renovation has done incredible work on our home again renovating our kitchen and doing a complete redo of our bathroom. We were just as happy with this project as we were with their work on previous projects. We benefited from quality work, skilled workers, and tremendous oversight by JR. Our home was respected by everyone who worked on this project. We are again very pleased with their work.Posted on Google Kevin Caravella We hired JR and US Propaint for bathroom remodel based on several neighbors positive experience with exterior house painting. We were not sure how they were on renovations since the recommendations were based on their painting results. We were not disappointed, JR was extremely responsive to us and was a pleasure to work with. JR provided some great advice on some of our renovation challenges. Once we completed our guest bathroom in April we immediately got on his schedule for our master bathroom which was just finished this week. So two major "to the studs" projects in this year and we are extremely pleased with results. Much more than a painting contractor!Posted on Google Nancy Kleber JR and his crew were very responsive, professional and hardworking. They did a great job prepping before painting, carpentry repairs and painting the exterior of my home. His price was very fair. I would definitely call him for other work in the future and recommend him to others.Posted on Google Craig M JR and his crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our house. There was quite a bit of carpentry needed to replace rotten shingles and corner boards, and they took no shortcuts. The crew was extremely hard working, professional, and had excellent attention to detail. JR also addressed any questions I had immediately. I strongly recommend!Posted on Google Ross Nanopoulos We hired Jr and crew to repaint the exterior of our house and garage, fix and paint our rotted front steps, and paint our back deck. Crew was very professional and everything came out great. Definitely would recommend and use again!
We bring the same licensed team and clear process to every Waltham project, whether it’s a mill-era home or a larger estate property.
