Lexington’s identity as the site of the Revolutionary War’s opening battle shapes more than its town green — it shapes how renovation gets approached here too. Many homes near the historic center date to Colonial and Victorian-era construction, and the town takes its historic character seriously, alongside a broader base of well-maintained homes throughout its residential neighborhoods.
We bring high craftsmanship standards to every Lexington project, matched to a market that expects real quality regardless of a home’s age or its distance from the historic district.
Every service below is available across our full service area — same crew, same standards, regardless of which town you’re in.
Kitchen projects near Lexington's historic center often mean working within an original footprint that predates modern appliance sizing, while homes further from the center have more room to open things up. Either way, professional design comes included, and we coordinate cabinetry, countertops, and layout as one connected project rather than a series of separate decisions.
We handle full bathroom rebuilds and tub-to-shower conversions with the finish quality Lexington homeowners expect, managing plumbing, tile, and fixtures as a single coordinated project. Original plumbing in historic homes sometimes needs updating as part of the work, which we flag during the initial consultation rather than as a surprise mid-project.
We design additions that match historic architecture on homes near the town center, and blend with more contemporary styles in Lexington's newer neighborhoods. Rooflines, trim profiles, and window styles all get matched so the finished addition looks like it was always part of the house rather than an obvious later insert.
We design and build ADUs for extended family living or rental income, managing site evaluation, permitting, and construction as one process. On properties near the historic district, we design the unit to complement the main home's architectural character rather than stand apart from it.
We design custom decks suited to Lexington's varied lot sizes, whether the property sits near the historic center on a smaller, denser lot or in a newer neighborhood with more room to work with.
We repair and replace siding matched to Lexington's historic and traditional architectural styles, preserving character on period homes rather than defaulting to whatever material installs fastest. Clapboard and shingle profiles get matched carefully on properties with real historic significance.
We install energy-efficient windows and doors, sizing installations to match historic openings on older Lexington homes — true divided-light patterns where the architecture calls for it, rather than a generic modern unit that clashes with the rest of the house.
Our US Pro Method delivers a factory-finish cabinet transformation in under 10 days — a fast way to update a kitchen without a full renovation, particularly useful for historic homes where the existing cabinet boxes and layout are worth preserving.
We follow our full 13-step roofing process on every home in Lexington and back the work with a 12-year warranty on workmanship and materials, regardless of whether the roof sits over a Colonial-era home or a newer build.
We apply premium paint with full surface prep, following lead-safe practices on Lexington's historic homes near the center and standard prep elsewhere in town. Historic properties often need more careful scraping and priming given the age of the original paint layers underneath.
We paint interiors with full prep and include a complimentary color consultation, taking extra care around original trim and millwork on Lexington's historic homes. Newer construction gets the same attention to prep without the additional care historic surfaces require.
We refinish tubs and tile at a fraction of full renovation cost, well-suited to structurally sound bathrooms in Lexington's historic homes where the original fixtures just need a cosmetic update rather than full replacement.
We coat garage and basement floors with durable epoxy systems built for daily use, a practical upgrade regardless of which part of Lexington the property sits in.
We provide 24/7 emergency response for water damage and certified mold remediation, relevant for Lexington's older housing stock where aging systems sometimes contribute to moisture issues.
We assess your property and provide a clear, written estimate.
We finalize layout, materials, and permitting needs for your project.
We handle applications with Lexington’s building department.
Our crew completes the work to code, with regular updates throughout.
We review finished work together and leave the site clean.
Typically $12,000 to $95,000, depending on project scope and materials used.
Most projects take 3 to 8 weeks, although larger renovations may require more time.
Kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovations, and basement finishing usually provide the highest return.
Yes — many remodeling projects require permits, and we manage the process as part of your renovation.
Choose a licensed contractor with strong reviews, clear estimates, and experience with comparable homes.
Yes — we’re familiar with the additional care older, historically significant homes in this area often require.
Posted on Google Karl Desmond The team showed up right on time to do our roof. They worked efficiently and completed the job in 1 day. Very impressed with the clean up as well, would definitely recommendPosted on Google Kristin Braithwaite JR and his team installed a custom kitchen island and coffee stand/cabinet for me. JR did a great job of helping me to maximize my space (which is smaller than ideal for what I was seeking). He was patient with my lack of knowledge around the work itself and was able to transform my very layman's vision into something real. He and his team were polite, professional, respectful, and incredibly quick to complete the job. I absolutely love my island and coffee corner and would recommend US Propaint & Renovation without hesitation!Posted on Google John McCarthy JR and his team came in to remove an existing rear deck and replace it with an expanded composite deck. My wife and I are very happy with the project! It looks great and is very solid construction. All of his team were careful and professional and did a great job removing the old deck, recasting new foundation piers and installing the new deck, trim and railings. JR was very thoughtful during our initial discussions and came up with some very creative ideas to resolve some issues. The work was completed in a timely manner. Once they started they did not stop, except for inclement weather. They did an outstanding job of final clean-up and removed debris from the work area nearly every day. When they left they replaced all the furniture exactly as it was when they started. We look forward to working with JR and his team again.Posted on Google Janet Pray JR and his team were professional , knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with on my project. It took me a year to look for a place to have my stairs built, and it was worth the wait. I would recommend them highly.Posted on Google Tom McCone JR was extremely courteous and professional to work with. His crew arrived early each day and worked full days sanding, doing carpentry work, and exterior painting of our home. The crew was polite and always considerate of how they left the property each day. We will certainly use them again for other projects. We could not recommend them more highly. The house looks great; thanks JR and crew! As of November, 2022 US Pro Paint and Renovation has done incredible work on our home again renovating our kitchen and doing a complete redo of our bathroom. We were just as happy with this project as we were with their work on previous projects. We benefited from quality work, skilled workers, and tremendous oversight by JR. Our home was respected by everyone who worked on this project. We are again very pleased with their work.Posted on Google Kevin Caravella We hired JR and US Propaint for bathroom remodel based on several neighbors positive experience with exterior house painting. We were not sure how they were on renovations since the recommendations were based on their painting results. We were not disappointed, JR was extremely responsive to us and was a pleasure to work with. JR provided some great advice on some of our renovation challenges. Once we completed our guest bathroom in April we immediately got on his schedule for our master bathroom which was just finished this week. So two major "to the studs" projects in this year and we are extremely pleased with results. Much more than a painting contractor!Posted on Google Nancy Kleber JR and his crew were very responsive, professional and hardworking. They did a great job prepping before painting, carpentry repairs and painting the exterior of my home. His price was very fair. I would definitely call him for other work in the future and recommend him to others.Posted on Google Craig M JR and his crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our house. There was quite a bit of carpentry needed to replace rotten shingles and corner boards, and they took no shortcuts. The crew was extremely hard working, professional, and had excellent attention to detail. JR also addressed any questions I had immediately. I strongly recommend!Posted on Google Ross Nanopoulos We hired Jr and crew to repaint the exterior of our house and garage, fix and paint our rotted front steps, and paint our back deck. Crew was very professional and everything came out great. Definitely would recommend and use again!
