Duxbury’s wealth traces back to its 18th and 19th-century shipbuilding era, when the town ranked among the largest shipbuilding centers in the New World — and the grand Captain’s Homes built along the bay during that period still stand as some of the most distinctive properties in town today. Most homes here sit on lots starting at two acres, a scale that shapes everything from exterior painting scope to deck and addition projects.
Between historic homes that need period-appropriate care and newer construction on generously sized lots, Duxbury renovation work spans a wide range. It consistently demands more square footage of coverage and more attention to detail than a standard suburban project does.
Every service below is available across our full service area — same crew, same standards, regardless of which town you’re in.
We balance period character with modern function in Duxbury kitchen renovations, preserving original architectural elements worth keeping while updating layout, appliances, and finishes to how families actually cook and live today.
We renovate bathrooms in both historic homes and newer waterfront construction, managing plumbing, tile, and fixtures as a single coordinated project rather than splitting work across separate trades.
We design additions to blend with the colonial, Victorian, and Cape Cod-style architecture common throughout Duxbury, matching rooflines and trim details so the new space reads as original rather than tacked on. The larger lots common here often give an addition more room to work with than a typical suburban property allows.
We handle siding repair and replacement with real sensitivity to historic architectural character on period homes, matching existing clapboard or shingle profiles wherever the original material has held up and replacing only what's actually failed.
We replace windows and doors on historic and larger contemporary homes alike, sizing installations to match original openings on period properties rather than forcing a standard modern size.
Our US Pro Method refinishes cabinets off-site in under 10 days, a practical option for updating a kitchen between larger renovation projects.
We size roofing projects to Duxbury's often larger roof footprints, following our full 13-step process and backing every roof with a 12-year warranty on workmanship and materials.
We scale exterior painting to Duxbury's larger lots and homes, applying lead-safe practices on the town's historic Captain's Homes and full surface prep on every project regardless of the home's age. Larger homes mean more surface area to cover, which we factor into scheduling and crew size rather than rushing a job that needs more time.
We paint interiors with full prep and a complimentary color consultation, taking extra care around original trim and millwork common in Duxbury's historic homes.
We refinish tubs and tile in historic homes where the original fixtures remain structurally sound, preserving period character at a fraction of full renovation cost.
We coat garage and basement floors with durable, moisture-resistant epoxy systems, particularly useful given Duxbury's coastal humidity.
We restore storm and moisture damage on coastal and bayside properties, providing 24/7 emergency response for the flooding and wind damage that comes with Duxbury's waterfront exposure.
We assess your property and provide a clear, written estimate.
We finalize layout, materials, and permitting needs for your project.
We handle applications with Duxbury’s building department.
Our crew completes the work to code, with regular updates throughout.
e review finished work together and leave the site clean.

Yes — we understand the period-appropriate detail these homes require, from matching historic trim profiles to following lead-safe practices on any home built before 1978.
Yes — exterior painting, siding, and roofing costs scale with square footage, so Duxbury’s larger homes and properties typically involve more material and labor than a standard suburban project. We give you a detailed estimate specific to your property’s actual size.
Yes — properties with direct water exposure benefit from more weather-resistant materials, similar to what we recommend for other South Shore coastal towns.
Yes — Duxbury has a genuine mix of historic Captain’s Homes, Victorians, Capes, and newer construction, and we work across all of them.
Any home built before 1978 may contain lead paint. We’re certified in lead-safe work practices and assess this during your consultation.
Posted on Google Karl Desmond The team showed up right on time to do our roof. They worked efficiently and completed the job in 1 day. Very impressed with the clean up as well, would definitely recommendPosted on Google Kristin Braithwaite JR and his team installed a custom kitchen island and coffee stand/cabinet for me. JR did a great job of helping me to maximize my space (which is smaller than ideal for what I was seeking). He was patient with my lack of knowledge around the work itself and was able to transform my very layman's vision into something real. He and his team were polite, professional, respectful, and incredibly quick to complete the job. I absolutely love my island and coffee corner and would recommend US Propaint & Renovation without hesitation!Posted on Google John McCarthy JR and his team came in to remove an existing rear deck and replace it with an expanded composite deck. My wife and I are very happy with the project! It looks great and is very solid construction. All of his team were careful and professional and did a great job removing the old deck, recasting new foundation piers and installing the new deck, trim and railings. JR was very thoughtful during our initial discussions and came up with some very creative ideas to resolve some issues. The work was completed in a timely manner. Once they started they did not stop, except for inclement weather. They did an outstanding job of final clean-up and removed debris from the work area nearly every day. When they left they replaced all the furniture exactly as it was when they started. We look forward to working with JR and his team again.Posted on Google Janet Pray JR and his team were professional , knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with on my project. It took me a year to look for a place to have my stairs built, and it was worth the wait. I would recommend them highly.Posted on Google Tom McCone JR was extremely courteous and professional to work with. His crew arrived early each day and worked full days sanding, doing carpentry work, and exterior painting of our home. The crew was polite and always considerate of how they left the property each day. We will certainly use them again for other projects. We could not recommend them more highly. The house looks great; thanks JR and crew! As of November, 2022 US Pro Paint and Renovation has done incredible work on our home again renovating our kitchen and doing a complete redo of our bathroom. We were just as happy with this project as we were with their work on previous projects. We benefited from quality work, skilled workers, and tremendous oversight by JR. Our home was respected by everyone who worked on this project. We are again very pleased with their work.Posted on Google Kevin Caravella We hired JR and US Propaint for bathroom remodel based on several neighbors positive experience with exterior house painting. We were not sure how they were on renovations since the recommendations were based on their painting results. We were not disappointed, JR was extremely responsive to us and was a pleasure to work with. JR provided some great advice on some of our renovation challenges. Once we completed our guest bathroom in April we immediately got on his schedule for our master bathroom which was just finished this week. So two major "to the studs" projects in this year and we are extremely pleased with results. Much more than a painting contractor!Posted on Google Nancy Kleber JR and his crew were very responsive, professional and hardworking. They did a great job prepping before painting, carpentry repairs and painting the exterior of my home. His price was very fair. I would definitely call him for other work in the future and recommend him to others.Posted on Google Craig M JR and his crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our house. There was quite a bit of carpentry needed to replace rotten shingles and corner boards, and they took no shortcuts. The crew was extremely hard working, professional, and had excellent attention to detail. JR also addressed any questions I had immediately. I strongly recommend!Posted on Google Ross Nanopoulos We hired Jr and crew to repaint the exterior of our house and garage, fix and paint our rotted front steps, and paint our back deck. Crew was very professional and everything came out great. Definitely would recommend and use again!
Whether it’s a historic Captain’s Home or newer construction on a larger lot, we bring the scale and period-detail experience these projects need.
