Belmont has long carried the nickname “Town of Homes,” and it lives up to it — a small, almost entirely residential community squeezed between Cambridge, Arlington, and Watertown, with a housing stock of well-kept single-family colonials and Victorians. It’s a market where homeowners take real pride in their properties, and renovation work needs to match that care.
We bring the same craftsmanship standard to every Belmont project that its homeowners already hold themselves to, understanding that in this town, “good enough” isn’t actually good enough.
Every service below is available across our full service area — same crew, same standards, regardless of which town you’re in.
Belmont's colonial and Victorian kitchens often have real architectural character worth preserving even while updating function, and we design with that balance in mind. Professional design comes included with every renovation, coordinating cabinetry, countertops, and layout as one project rather than a series of disconnected decisions.
We handle full bathroom rebuilds and tub-to-shower conversions, managing plumbing, tile, and fixtures as one coordinated project — a genuine consideration in Belmont's older housing stock, where original systems sometimes need updating alongside cosmetic changes.
We build additions and finish basements for growing households, matching Belmont's colonial and Victorian architecture so the addition reads as original rather than an obvious later addition. Rooflines and trim details get matched carefully given how much homeowners here notice these things.
We design and build ADUs for extended family or rental income, working within Belmont's typically smaller lot sizes. A garage conversion often makes more practical sense here than new stand-alone construction, given how tight most Belmont properties run.
We refinish tubs and tile at a fraction of full renovation cost, ideal for structurally sound bathrooms in Belmont's older homes where the original fixtures just need a cosmetic refresh.
We design custom decks that fit Belmont's typically smaller, close-set lots without crowding the yard, working within setback constraints that are tighter here than in a more spread-out suburb.
We repair and replace siding matched to Belmont's traditional colonial and Victorian architecture, preserving character rather than defaulting to whatever material happens to be easiest to install.
We install energy-efficient windows and doors, sizing installations to match historic openings on Belmont's older homes rather than forcing a generic modern unit into a period frame.
Our US Pro Method delivers a factory-finish cabinet transformation in under 10 days, completed off-site with minimal disruption — a practical way to update a Belmont kitchen without the scope of a full renovation.
We follow our full 13-step roofing process on every home and back the work with a 12-year warranty on workmanship and materials, matching the same craftsmanship standard Belmont homeowners expect everywhere else.
We apply premium paint with full surface prep, following lead-safe practices on Belmont's colonial and Victorian-era homes — a real consideration given how much of the town's housing predates 1978.
We paint interiors with full prep and include a complimentary color consultation, taking care around the original trim common in Belmont's older homes where the millwork often predates modern construction standards.
We coat garage and basement floors with durable epoxy systems built for daily use, a practical upgrade for Belmont's often compact garages and basements.
We provide 24/7 emergency response for water damage and certified mold remediation, relevant for Belmont's significant older housing stock where aging systems occasionally contribute to moisture problems.
We assess your property and provide a clear, written estimate.
We finalize layout, materials, and permitting needs for your project.
We handle applications with Belmont’s building department.
Our crew completes the work to code, with regular updates throughout.
We review finished work together and leave the site clean.
Typically $12,000 to $95,000, depending on the size and complexity of the project, as well as materials chosen.
Most projects take 3 to 8 weeks, though more complex renovations may take longer.
Kitchen remodeling, bathroom upgrades, and basement finishing projects typically provide the highest return.
Yes — many renovation projects require permits, and we manage applications and inspections to ensure compliance with local building codes.
Look for a licensed contractor with strong customer reviews, transparent estimates, and proven experience.
Yes — we regularly work on Belmont’s colonial and Victorian-era homes.
Posted on Google Karl Desmond The team showed up right on time to do our roof. They worked efficiently and completed the job in 1 day. Very impressed with the clean up as well, would definitely recommendPosted on Google Kristin Braithwaite JR and his team installed a custom kitchen island and coffee stand/cabinet for me. JR did a great job of helping me to maximize my space (which is smaller than ideal for what I was seeking). He was patient with my lack of knowledge around the work itself and was able to transform my very layman's vision into something real. He and his team were polite, professional, respectful, and incredibly quick to complete the job. I absolutely love my island and coffee corner and would recommend US Propaint & Renovation without hesitation!Posted on Google John McCarthy JR and his team came in to remove an existing rear deck and replace it with an expanded composite deck. My wife and I are very happy with the project! It looks great and is very solid construction. All of his team were careful and professional and did a great job removing the old deck, recasting new foundation piers and installing the new deck, trim and railings. JR was very thoughtful during our initial discussions and came up with some very creative ideas to resolve some issues. The work was completed in a timely manner. Once they started they did not stop, except for inclement weather. They did an outstanding job of final clean-up and removed debris from the work area nearly every day. When they left they replaced all the furniture exactly as it was when they started. We look forward to working with JR and his team again.Posted on Google Janet Pray JR and his team were professional , knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with on my project. It took me a year to look for a place to have my stairs built, and it was worth the wait. I would recommend them highly.Posted on Google Tom McCone JR was extremely courteous and professional to work with. His crew arrived early each day and worked full days sanding, doing carpentry work, and exterior painting of our home. The crew was polite and always considerate of how they left the property each day. We will certainly use them again for other projects. We could not recommend them more highly. The house looks great; thanks JR and crew! As of November, 2022 US Pro Paint and Renovation has done incredible work on our home again renovating our kitchen and doing a complete redo of our bathroom. We were just as happy with this project as we were with their work on previous projects. We benefited from quality work, skilled workers, and tremendous oversight by JR. Our home was respected by everyone who worked on this project. We are again very pleased with their work.Posted on Google Kevin Caravella We hired JR and US Propaint for bathroom remodel based on several neighbors positive experience with exterior house painting. We were not sure how they were on renovations since the recommendations were based on their painting results. We were not disappointed, JR was extremely responsive to us and was a pleasure to work with. JR provided some great advice on some of our renovation challenges. Once we completed our guest bathroom in April we immediately got on his schedule for our master bathroom which was just finished this week. So two major "to the studs" projects in this year and we are extremely pleased with results. Much more than a painting contractor!Posted on Google Nancy Kleber JR and his crew were very responsive, professional and hardworking. They did a great job prepping before painting, carpentry repairs and painting the exterior of my home. His price was very fair. I would definitely call him for other work in the future and recommend him to others.Posted on Google Craig M JR and his crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our house. There was quite a bit of carpentry needed to replace rotten shingles and corner boards, and they took no shortcuts. The crew was extremely hard working, professional, and had excellent attention to detail. JR also addressed any questions I had immediately. I strongly recommend!Posted on Google Ross Nanopoulos We hired Jr and crew to repaint the exterior of our house and garage, fix and paint our rotted front steps, and paint our back deck. Crew was very professional and everything came out great. Definitely would recommend and use again!
